Boulder ICO (Inspiring Connections Outdoors) is an all-volunteer outreach program of the Sierra Club that provides free nature outings and wilderness adventures to children and families who would not have these opportunities any other way. We are now launching a Longmont-based program and need volunteers to help organize and lead outings for that program. We provide all of the training you’ll need to run great outings, and we have a wide array of outings on which to volunteer. Volunteering with us is fun and hugely rewarding. Also, we are offering a free Outdoor Leadership Training on March 28th and 29th for those who wish to organize and lead outings for us. This course covers the mechanics of planning and getting approval for an outing, how to get participants for the outing, and how to otherwise make the outing a success. Registration for this course is now open and can be accessed here. We ask only that, if you sign up, please let us know ASAP (at boulderico@gmail.com) if your plans change.
